Aisha Shehu Adamu (born 15 September 1969) is a Nigerian consultant physician specializing in gastroenterology and hepatology, appointed as the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Jalingo, Taraba State, in March 2020 and reappointed in October 2024, where she is the fourth person to hold this position. She is married with three children and is known for her leadership in clinical services, public health initiatives, and anti-corruption efforts within the medical sector.
Aisha Shehu Adamu was born on 15 September 1969 in Potiskum, Yobe State, Nigeria, though she hails from Karim-Lamido Local Government Area in Taraba State. She grew up in a close-knit monogamous family where both her parents worked as nurses and her uncle served as a medical doctor, immersing her in a household centered on healthcare from an early age. Adamu's childhood was marked by frequent relocations across Yobe State due to her parents' professional transfers, exposing her to diverse cultures and communities that broadened her worldview.
